How to Properly Hold Your Bible
How you hold your Bible when it’s open will play an important role in preserving its structural integrity. Two common ways readers open their Bibles—the half-fold and the full-fold—will always damage the Bible’s binding, eventually resulting in loose or lost pages. The half-fold looks like opening your Bible and bending one side (along with the that side’s cover) toward the Bible’s “gutter” (the center of an open book). The full-fold looks like opening your Bible and folding one side (along with the that side’s cover) toward the Bible’s spine.
Our Recommendation:
We strongly recommend avoiding both harmful holds. Instead let your Bible lay flat in both hands, or supported at the spine in one hand while the other rests gently on top of the pages.
